Does GPL work in stereo 3D?

This is really a question for Randy Cassidy, but if anyone else knows
the answer I'd be grateful!

Some 3D shutterglasses have just been released that have a DirectX 6 -
compatible driver which makes any 3D-accelerated game work in stereo 3D.

Since GPL uses Glide rather than Direct3D, on the face of it this means
it won't work with this driver, but I'm sure I read somewhere on
www.stereo3d.com that it does in fact work.

The trouble is that there's so much information on that site that I'm
really rather confused.

Has Papyrus tested GPL with any 3D glasses, and if it works do they have
any recommendations as to glasses and video cards?

If it doesn't work, isn't this another very good reason (as if one were
needed) to put Direct3D support into the game?

I basically only play GPL at the moment, as all other games pale into
insignificance next to it ;-) so if it doesn't work then I won't bother
getting the glasses.

I've been playing GPL with the Wicked3D EyeScream glasses for over 2
months - it is an AMAZING EXPERIENCE and I can barely bring myself to
play the game without them now.  Everything is so lifelike and 3D -
it's the next best thing to being there.

So the answer is YES - GPL does work with 3D shutter glasses. - at
least the Eyescream - not sure which brand you are asking about but as
long as they come with their own Glide-wrapper you can use to
intercept the Glide the game uses you are fine.

Where can I find one of these? The eyeScream Wicked 3d site doesn't mention
a price or who is carrying them...

Does GPL work in stereo 3D?

Neil,

I have a set of the Wicked 3D EyeScream glasses ( H3D with new software),
and I have tested them with GPL.

I found a couple of visual problems, firstly, the driving line is not
displayed on the track so the driving line, and some braking points are
harder to find.  There are no floorboards in my car!  Using the 3D glasses,
the area under the***pit, around the drivers legs is transparent, and you
can see the road!  This was several months ago with a Voodoo2 SLI setup.  I
have not yet tried them with my Voodoo3 3000.

Other than that the 3D effect was very good.

 Brad,
If you get the chance could you try them with the V3, I have a 3000 and
was considering getting the H3D glasses.
    Thanks in advance
                                    Phillip..

I think that's because they've sold out of all their products and have
stopped taking orders.

Looks like they underestimated the demand for these things!

So if anyone knows how I can get a pair from the UK, heeelp please!
