Dell P150 problem with IRC2 and GP2

I have a Dell P150 running Windows 95.  Has anyone else had a problem where
the program will freeze for about 1 second for 4 times and then resume?
The computer has a SCCI 2.5G hard drive.  Any help would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem on my work machine (but don't tell the boss
:). It turned out to be a combination of having dial-up networking
installed AND having an IPX network card installed at the same time.
My home machine has dial-up networking installed, but no network card
so I don't suffer the problem here.

Interestingly, I phoned Microsoft to ask them what the problem might
be and told them that I had heard that it was something to do with
dial-up networking - they denied any connection - but when I removed
dial-up networking on my machine the problem disappeared ! Removing
dial-up networking may not be a viable solution for you however. One
possibility might be to create a hardware profile without the IPX
network card which you can then use to play games, reverting to the
standard hardware profile when you need the network card. I stress
that this is just an idea and I haven't tried it - and it won't help
if you want to play games using a network. I found that creating a
hardware profile without dial-up networking did not solve the problem
- it had to be properly un-installed :(

Good luck !
