DELL PXS P133c Video Performance w/ GP2 & s3spdup

This system used to be the benchmark system for all the majow
magazines, so I''m posting my video performance because it seem
substantially slower than what i've seen here.

I've got 48Me g of ram, and 256k of Cache
The video card is  a #9 Motion w/ 2megs of Vram  this card is built
around the S3 968 chipset.

the gplog.txt file reports processor speed 258 video 151
using s3spdup   I get identical numbers. possibly with a higher PO

Running SVGA,  most detail off, s3spdup vesa on
The game seems to run slower with s3spdup active. This is most
noticable with smoke turned on.  I now set the frame rate one step
below the estimate  and turn smoke off to get a decent framerate, but
there's enouph frustration to keep up with the 200MHZ MMX news.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to speed up this combination.
or how to get s3spdup to work with a Motion 771 card.

I'm getting gp.log speed of 379 and a vspeed of 189 on a new Dell
PPro200 with a #9 Virge card (No s3spdup), now I wonder if its worth the
bother.  I have read other postings that suggest that #9 cards don't
pond well to some of these "tweaks".

James, I'm running a P133 with noname Virge based card and get ~460
for vid speed. (with s3spdup)  Running a PPro which has a lower priority
on writing to video ram than standard Pentiums, you should look around
the web for a program called FASTVID (I don't know where tho')  This will
improve GP2 performance quite alot.  (anyone know where to find it?)

I don't know if you can run s3spdup on top, but it improved SVGA
occupancy levels by around 15-20% on my machine.

after much tweaking, my ppro200 w/ mach64 card did show vast
improvement with univbe 5.3 and fastvid combined, both in benchmarks
and dos games, BUT!  in gp2 the enabling of these two programs did
nothing to change my gp2 log:on score of 379 cpu and 139 video.

Fastvid did not improve the performance of my #9 ViRGE card on a
PPro200, still haven't found s3spdup.

Hey Guys, My comp is a P133 with an ATI2megVram. I'm happy with the vidio Performance
but naturally could use more.  Does anyone know if this utillity "fastvid" works with
ATI?  Are there any other "tweak" utilities that are worth while?
More importantly, I've never heard about "gp.log" or "video" speed meassurements and
am interested in finding out about this.  Is there some sort of utility that I need to
know about?

I have a pentium 133 with a Virge card (ExpertColor) and my videospeed
went up from 355 to 490 with s3spdup.

Help!  Where did you find this univbe5.3 or fastvid?  What's this gp2 "log:on" score?

I'll turn off the Gravity, it'll help you relax.
