s3spdup, fastvid, etc. advice wanted for GP2

Hi All.

I've been racing (well, crashing mostly) around in GP2 and would
like to speed up the game a bit like has been mentioned here
before.  Can anyone recommend which utility I should use?
I have a Diamond Stealth 2201 (2MB DRAM PCI) and a P133 Triton
board.  I know utilities of this type can be potentially damaging
to the system so I want to use to correct one.

Thanks and happy racing.

FASTVID only works on a P6. It enables the write combining and
linear frame buffering. Apparently Intel decided that the OS
should do this on the P6, where it is enabled natively on a P5.
So when you use FASTVID on a P6 you are simply turning "on" a
feature that is disabled. It will NOT work on a P5 at all.

Okay, first of all, Fastvid only works with Pentium Pros. Good.

As for S3SPDUP,  I don't know. There have been reports in this group
about the benefits (I have even seen one where the video speed jumped
by about 150!). Obviously you need the S3 chipset to use it, which I
think you have.

S3 speed up utility is quite impressive. It dropped my processor
occupancy from 107% to 85% (just verified that at Monza pits). I've got
a P133 and a Stealth 1MB DRAM (S3 Trio64). I run GP2 in SVGA. If I
enable the "VGA mode 13" I get a huge improvement in the log file
(video speed) index, but no true frames/s. If I enable VESA mode, I get
no improvement in the log file index, but indeed I do get some very nice
extra fps.

Ok, ok.
I give up, I picked up this thread very recently and need to know 2
things.
Will it work on a 486 66 dx2-s with a stealth64 2mg vram card? If so
where do I get it?
Thanks

I have tried using s3spdup vesa, s3spdup vga, with and without the /load
option, and all my computer does is hang when I run gp2.  :(
I have a Stealth 64 2MB PCI DRAM card and a P133 on a Triton board.
Award BIOS, Video shadowing disabled.

Any ideas????
