error in VROC -newbie

Hi guys,

Hoping someone could explain the following error when I launch VROC.

-the procedure entry point RichEdit10ANSIWndProc could not be located in the
dynamic link library RICHED20.dll-

This is the first time I've loaded it on this PC..
P3 600
WinXP

Thanks in advance

Hi Steve,

Delete or rename the file called riched20.dll in the VROC installation
folder. eg. c:\Program Files\VROC\WinVROC

Cheers,
Les.

Thanks Les.

This seems to be a common problem with XP. I've had my installation for four
days and it's been driving me mad :-)

So why did you install XP?  (sorry broken record time here)  Wasn't GPL
and other sims working just fine before?  What feature of XP made it
imperitive you had to install it...
(forgive all this if you bought a new system with XP installed)

It came pre-installed in my new machine..... !! GPL was working fine in my
old machine before it blew up. This and my old ISP crapping out have given
me an enforced online absence for a period of three months

Not read my other post?

And win2k also.  Same fix works for it, too.  Delete the .dll file...

That's what bugs me about buying a new system.  My dad wants to buy one, but it
comes with XP.  I'm almost wanting to reformat the damn thing as soon as he
gets it.  Normally, I'd say if the OS comes pre-loaded, you should have fewer
problems.  With XP, I'm not so sure... :(

I love XP Eldred, built a new system and did a clean install on a new hard
drive.
But then, I haven't loaded GPL on it yet.

Sorry Mark I did see the other post but I didn't even notice this was
yours so I failed to connect the dots.  I just find questions and question
the questioner...:)
Good luck getting it all sorted out.  Once you do, the updated graphics for
GPL are downright astonishing.

There can be some unpleasant surprises when 'downgrading':
Got a Dell notebook with WinME preinstalled. Wanted to go back to SE.
After installation all kinds of problems, esp. USB slower than serial port and
PCMCIA didn't work.
Obviously the drivers coming with the notebook were no more SE-compliant :-(

Actually, in thinking about it, it might work just fine for him.  It's not like
he's going to be running graphic-intensive games all day...  I'm just letting
my bias against XP get in the way.<g>

"Hold on to your butts" !!

Steve
PS. XP came with my system, bit of a bummer, but I haven't had any probs
until this came up.
