Thank you for the answer... I'll wait for the release, that should give me
more practice time, hehe...

Christian Giroux.
The "Nail That Track" series offers outstanding daily races that *don't*
require the use of VROC, although our races *are* available via VROC's
Password Room. So if you're an Internet Explorer user, we have the online
racing answer for you!
When you register for a NTT event you receive an NTT server IP address and
password, allowing you to make a direct connection from your GPL Multiplayer
screen, avoiding the overhead of Netscape or any other program. Check out
the RAS post entitled "'Nail That Track' Race Registration Procedure" for a
schedule of upcoming NTT events and details on how to register for events.
But, the biggest advantage that NTT offers is a regular schedule of quality
events, top-notch connections, superb fields, and the absence of
irresponsible, discourteous drivers.
To get a feel for the quality of the NTT events, do a search on "Nail That
Track" in RAS or take a look at the "News" section of The APEX
(http://gpl.gamestats.com/ ).
Hope to see you at the track!

|Wait for the GPL 1.1 patch. When it is finally released (don't ask me when
|since I do not work for Papyrus or Sierra) you should be able to use VROC
|from Netscape or IE 4.0. ;-)

|Thanks,

Jack Rambo a crit dans le message ...
Hello Jack,
Thanks for the input, i'll check it out.
Btw any pilot uses voice com. (such as BC) in a race? Although i think it's
not like when i fly Lb2 where we need to use tactics and all, but for
connection purpose it would be an asset, would it ?
Christian Giroux.
To date, we have had the misfortunate of dealing with only one driver guilty
of "unsportsmanlike conduct", who you may have read about in one of the NTT
race reports published here. The gentleman in question made one appearance
in the NTT series and, after his exposure, others who conduct themselves in
such a reckless manner know that "Nail That Track" is not the place for
them.
With the addition of password-controlled access and our soon-to-implemented
licensing process, a great *controlled* environment in which to enjoy online
racing has just gotten even better! If you're capable of managing your car
and simply being courteous to your fellow competitors, you owe it to
yourself to give "Nail That Track" a try!
Come join us at the track!

I think the point is... the new version of VROC was created and focused for
the GPL 1.1 patch. I expect that they already have it, and worked on VROC
to make it compatible. I know that there was some very detailed work to
make it available on IE. All the new options and bug fixes that the patch
will contain will probably make the old VROC version and GPL 1.0
incompatible.
For them to release the new version of VROC at the same time as the new GPL
patch is a great thing. Im not affiliated anymore with VROC.

Alison (and all the others who have worked on VROC) please accept this
*HUGE* thank you from me, and I'm sure from all the other GPL'ers who
use VROC.
It really has taken the GPL *experience* to a whole new dimension.
Your hard work and dedication really is appreciated. Please keep up
the excellent work that you have done, and continue to do.
I cannot wait for the *new* VROC to get up and running......
