Rally Sims?!

Anyone knowing something about a good Rally sim? Is there any (I mean a real
challenging sim, something like F1GP or ICR2). If not, is there any in
development?

I wish there was. Problem is, since most PC game design is done in
America, nobody in America even knows what a rally really is!

Go to an American and start talking about rallies. They'll think you're
talking about one of a few things:
1 - political protests
2 - group motorcycle touring
3 - Trivia driving (how many stoplights before the green thing?)

But that doesn't mean there shouldn't be a rally sim. The ***
community has an idea what rallying means thanks to Sega. PC's have
finally gotten enough power to be able to handle a realistic rally sim.
We're seeing so many stock car/open wheel sims that there's certainly
room for another racing sim genre. Sega Rally is fun, but there's so
much room for adding tuning options, damage, team management, different
teams, and so on. Hopefully it'll be possible to convince a company
to write it, but considering how dramatically this is a NASCAR country
I doubt it is going to happen.

Check out http://www.racesimcentral.net/~sls/ it an AUSTRALIA software company
that has ALMOST completed a Rally game based on the Telstra Rally
Australia. Looks promising.
