64 MEG enough for GPL?

64 MEG enough for GPL?

I've got a PII 233, Viper turbo, Voodoo II 8 meg, SB16 and 64 megs of
memory.
Would increasing memory to 128 meg also increase framerate in GPL?

Cheers.

says...

Probably not by much if any at al, but you will be able to save larger
replays.

I'm not sure if you want to overclock, but if you are:

One of my PCs is a PII 266 that I'm running at 300MHz.  I got about a 10%
increase in framerate in GPL.  The PII 233, 266, and 300 are essentially the
same chip, running with clock multipliers of 3, 3.5, and 4 respectively.
You'll need to find out what the motherboard jumper settings are to change
the clock multiplier.

They all have the same 0.35 micron fabrication size, so a PII 233
overclocked  to 300 should not run any hotter than a PII 300.  For more

Actually I found that increasing memory to 128 gave better FPS performance
2-3 frames, and no hard drive swapping ....
