RBR/ECCI no go :(

Anyone with an ECCI having any luck with the game?  All reports seem to
point to it not recognizing the pedals correctly.  My brake is 100 on all of
the time.  I have to hold it down to drive, lol.  No fun.

I have the ECCI 3000 Trackstar pedals combined with an LWFF, and the
combo works fine in RBR with separate axes.

If you have to hold the brake down to drive, that sounds like your
pedals were recognized as single axis?

I guess it's the same problem as with the TSW2 pedals (at least the
symptoms are the same), and I'm 100% sure it was set to split axis in
RBR.

LFS gets it right, the papy titles get it right, GT Racing gets it
5Cright, so do F1C and RT with some hacking of ini files. It seems
somewhat strange to me that such a high-end sim hasn't been tested on
high-end equipment 8-P

I had the same problem on a TM Formula PRO (yes its old but it is my
favourite!)

With split axis the values go down as the pedal is pressed, so it can also
work in combined axis. Most other sims can cope with this and recognise the
not pressed value and the fully pressed value and assign accordingly. RBR
seems not to.

Out of pure obsession I rewired my pedals so they only work split axis now
but the values go up for both throttle and brake - works perfectly in RBR
and other sims.

It was pretty simple - just swapping over the wires and linked terminals on
the pot. Even my soldering skills coped. Of course doing this with a an ECCI
or TSW rather than a 15 wheel on ebay may require more bravery...

Cheers

Hi tony,

I can only speak for the TSW crowd, and the TSW2 requires hardly any
soldering for maintenance. It's all nicely laid out, no problems at
all even for me (and all I know about soldering is the end on which
the soldering iron tends to get  hot ;-)

cheers,

uwe

I had the same problem, i switch the brake pot wires and was working good.
Even no problem with N2k3.

This worked for me and my TSW / WinXP system.  I used this fix for Live For
Speed, but I wonder if it would also work for this game as well.

Hmm, would that involve resoldering them at the pot ports or simply
exchanging the wires as they go into the little plastic connectors
with the screws on top (sorry, no idea what they are called in
english)?

My TSW2 brak pot has three metal ports. The white wire is soldered to
the middle one, while the red wire is soldered to the right one. Would
I need to resolder the red wire to the left one (which has no wire
attached to it at the moment)?

Cheers & TIA, uwe
