DirectX 7.0 to 6.1

Sometime ago I saw a post here referencing a website with instructions
on removing DirectX 7.0 and reinstalling 6.1.

Does anyone have any information they could pass on?

Thanks in advance,

'Twas I that gave it, and here it is again...

There's a DX 7 uninstaller at this URL.. Basically, what it does is label
your latest version as, say, DX1, then when you reinstall DX6.1 it'll go
right over the top of it.

You're a life saver, Colin.  Thank you very much.  I have bookmarked it this
time :-)

I agree Bob.. Great info Colin! I had to do it the hard  way though!
I ripped out all directories; win98, win98\system, win98\system32,
win98\systembk and win98\command then restored them with my
tape backup! I thought Win98 would crash but I re-booted and it
didn't luckily! Wish I knew of this site before but I'll book mark it
now also!......Cheers Thom_j.
