OT - DirectX 6.1 - No Sound problem

Last night,  I downloaded and installed DirectX 6.1 to race GP500.

Now, I have no SOUND in anything other than GP500. I even went to SOUND in
the control panel and none of the sounds Work.

I tried Uninstalling DirectX 6.1 and it didn't work !

What do I do???????? (Other than reformatting the HD and starting over ! )

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !!!
