Take a look at this:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/~tml/gimp/win32/

The Gimp is the premiere image editing program for Linux and it is pretty
nice.  This guy is trying to port it to Windows and it already works pretty
well over there, too!  It is 100% free and always will be.  It can certainly
handle your lighweight image editing chores and a lot more, too.

OT - PSP 6.1 demo program

Hey web guru's !!!!

I have been using PSP 6.1 on a limited basis to edit photos that I have
posted to my web page.

I'm running out of time on my 60 day limit. I usually buy programs that I
use often but with this program I don't think it's worth the $ 109.00. to
use it for my little projects. I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it
but it still knows that I have been using it for 45 days !!!

How do I reset the keys in the registry or is there another program that
will allow me to do simple photo editing projects???????

Please visit my webpage for new changes !

THANKS !

<snip - I'm no web guru!>

I don't know if it'll fit your needs, but the excellent Satori PhotoXL
is free. It used to be shareware, so it needs an unlock code, but it's
now freeware, and the code is included with the download. It gets a bit
fiddly in anything less than 1024x768, though.

You can get it via this link (it's a 6.53 meg download):

http://www.completelyfreesoftware.com/graphics_programs_w95.html

The Completely Free Software site is incredibly useful for skinflints
like me, but doesn't seem to be that well known. I highly recommend it!

Also, Paint Shop Pro 4.15SE (does most things, except GIF/TIFF) is
often given away on the cover of UK PC mags. Don't know if that's the
case in the US.

You might try setting your computer's date back a few days and check what
it says.  That worked for me with PSP 5.0, however it's still June on my
'puter. :)  You gotta take the good with the bad...

Amazing the hypocrisy demonstrated by some in this group: strident about the
"warez" and cracking of simulations but when it comes to a commercial
application a different set of morals apply.
