Nascar 2003 Question

Nascar 2003 Question

by Rand » Wed, 11 Dec 2002 08:16:54

Does anyone know how to make the pit crew show up? I can't seem to make this
part work. I have full animation on pit crew enabled but it drops back to a
screen listing all the drivers standings then if I click the green ok
button it puts me back in the car in the pits with all repairs fixed.

 Thanks for any help

Krimeny Randy..that's sooooo easy.  THere is such a thing as a manual.
Just read that and it will all be clear.  My pit crew looks great btw

If you're asking a Nascar 2003 question, the pit crews won't show up until
February in Daytona.
I can hardly wait so STOP TEASING ME!!!  ;)

Nascar 2003 Question

by Dave Henri » Wed, 11 Dec 2002 11:52:36

Look at your title Randy.  Nascar 2003 will NOT be released for several
more months.  Did you perhaps mean Nascar 2002  Or did you mean Nascar
THUNDER 2003?
that's probably where the confusion came in.  Generally the Papyrus
versions are referred to without a qualifying name, and the other titles are
usually referred to by the nickname.  Heat for Nascar Heat.  Thunder for
Nascar Thunder 2003.
But now after this apology I have to beg off, I don't have Thunder so my
help will only be guesswork.(oops that never stopped me before, here goes)

It's a common ploy for folks to drop in here and chat up they have the
latest and greatest sim long before release date.  If you made a typo then I
apologize for jumping all over you.  And If I assumed you meant the Papyrus
Nascar RACING 2003, then again...I'm in error.
This sounds like you are looking for the pit crew in practice.  If
Thunder is anything like the sim it was based on(F1 2002) then you will only
see your pit crew when in an actual race.  When you stop in your pitstall
the camera should change views and you  should see an outside view of the
team going to work.    And if you dig into your .plr file you'll find a
listing that will disable the outside camera if you want to stay in the car
during a pitstop.(but that is another question.!)  :)   In practice or test
mode, you drive into the pits, stop the car and next you see the leader
board so you can compare your times with the rest of the field.  During a
race you won't be able to view that leaderboard.
   Hope that helps.

Nascar 2003 Question

 Dave,
Sorry I meant NASCAR Thunder 2003. First day back to work after vacation and
a rainy Monday at that, so I had a short fuse and I'm sorry. I just dropped
the Thunder to save typing and I should not have done that.  <g> After I
read your response I looked again in the hand book and I see where I missed
the part where it only shows up in a real race. I just got the game so I was
trying to run the it with out the use of the manual... again thanks and I
will try to get the lingo to this newsgroup before I post again.
Again thanks for the tip (it now works) and for putting me in my place. <g>
It's better to be a smartA-- then a dumb one.  <g>

This sounds like you are in one of the practices/test sessions. Once you get
into a race you should see  the pit crew as you come into pit etc. This
works basically the same as F1 titles by EA. and if Dave wasn't trying to be
such an ass he may have been able to figure it out logically.

Well (HTH) Dave did get me thinking and I read the manual again and found
what I missed so he did help me even if at first he didn't mean to. <g> Now
the game works or should I say I know how it works.  <g>
Thanks to all for the help

Yep, I have plans for Sears Point again (Infineon Raceway now), and Pheonix.
Not many tracks to choose from living in Seattle!
