F1 2000 FRAPS (sorry I know its been done to death, but)

After much mucking around I have finally settled on a decent Ndivia
driver setup for my aging P111 600 32 meg TNT for F12000

I getting consistent 40's plus in solo laps which 'i'm satisfied with,
and as I mainly hot lap, that is ok.

However if i even attempt to try a single race at the start i drops
down so significantly, that sometimes my fraps are less than 5fps.

Is there any trick to the race start that someting can be turned off,
to allow for decent fps, but then enjoy all the spoils of game play
during a race when things settle down.

Im not optomistic, but I would like to be able to get off the grid.

thanks guys

I had the same problem.  Reduce the other car detail.  Strangely, before
reducing this the FPS loss was the same even when no other cars were in
sight.

That's F12001 for you....

Run the formation lap...?  I think that was a solution in F12K...
