You will probably have some troube loading the patches with
the modified files that you have. The way I did it was to
completely reload Nascar 2 into new directory and then run the
two patches (first one first of course) and then copied my
personal setups and modified files over one at a time.
My personally modified LAYOUT.DAT file tended to cause me
trouble with the Cross Weight in the garage area (buggar I
know why). Proof it was the modified file was when things went
fine once I put the Papyrus patched LAYOUT.DAT file back.
So I suggest doing a complete reinstall of Nascar 2 (not on
top of your existing installation) run the patches, and then
redo your modifications. Once your have got your new
installation running honka-dory you can then delete the
original installation. I in fact have Nascar 2 installed twice
permanately, basic original for modem racing against folks who
don't want to install the patches, and a Papyrus +
personal mods patched installation for the Nascar Offline
Racing Series (NORS) that I am a member of
I know it seems somewhat of a burden but you are best starting
fresh before you run the patchs. Too many folks have had
trouble. (possibly due to Non-Papyrus patched files).
I must add though that others have got away with it, so the
choice is yours.
