Problem with F1RS demo and DirectX5

by Simon Bubni » Fri, 17 Apr 1998 04:00:00

I seem to have a conflict between the Game controllers control panel and the
F1RS demo. If my wheel and pedals are set up in the control panel, F1RS
crashes after the F1RS logo but before the game can begin (crash report is
at the end of this message). Yet if I remove them from the control panel or
simply disconnect them from the computer, the demo will run, although I have
to steer with the keyboard (yuk). Reinstalling the demo or DirectX 5 doesn't
help. I don't have this problem with other games or demos. Is there any way
I can use my wheel+pedals in the F1RS demo? More importantly, will the full
game do this also? (In which case I won't bother buying it). Thanks in
advance

Simon
