Has anyone here had any experience using the Bleem Playstation emulator
for the PC?

If so, how well does it run racing games (such as Grand Turismo), and
what kind of system specs are needed to run it well?

My system is a Celeron 300A (oc'ed to 450), with 128M RAM and a Voodoo2.

Last, but not least, can you get a TSW Wheel to run with it?

Thanks.

I have tried. my config is P2 450 256 Mb

With my V2 in SLI GT sucked big Time, too slow to play, HOWEVER I have just
put in a TNT2 Ultra 32Mb by CL and the game (GT) is amazing).  I can play it
with my MS FF wheel with no problems at all, it is a blast.

I tried GT using a Celeron 375 (75Mhz bus) and it was pretty horrible.
It looked a lot better than the PSX version but it moved badly which
killed the enjoyment, which in GT comes from the fun driving model.

I never tried. It works well with keys (since it's designed for PSX
joypad) so I never bothered. If the game had worked well on Bleem I
might have persevered, but I figured it wasn't worth the effort and
went back to playing it on the PSX.

I posted more detailed comments here on r.a.s. a couple of weeks ago,
so if you search on http:www.deja.com for my name and "bleem" you
should find those comments also.

Cheers!
John

Actually, GT was the launch title game for the PSX Analogue Dual Shock Pad.
It was not designed for keys, especially :)

I use the Interact "wheel" for the PSX with which it works quite well.  For
those who don't know it, this is a hand held controller with a 2" dia analog
wheel that you turn between a couple of fingers.  It also has an analog
throttle trigger and analog brake button.  Okay, not a full wheel/pedal setup,
but I'm happy with it.

As to the PC, I've only tried the Bleem demo.  It finally works now with my
Win95 system using the latest demo.  I couldn't figure out how to use anything
but the steering via analog (joystick).  If I could get my pedals to work, and
if fast enough, I'd consider the full version of Bleem.  As is, I barely play
the game anymore, so no I'm not pursuing it.

It plays well with both buttons and 'mushrooms'.  It's definately been tuned
to cope with digital input, otherwise it would be undriveable.  As for
playing it with a wheel...
On the PSX it sucks heavily.  Maybe there was a way to change the dead zone,
but I couldn't find it.  GT is, in my experience, undriveable with a wheel
on PSX, so unless Bleem changes game facilities (I wouldn't know) I wouldn't
expect too much of playing GT with a flash PC wheel either.

I tried this with the demo version of bleem and hired a copy
of the PSX game "Speedster".

My machine is a P2 300, at the time it had an S3PCI card and a
Voodoo 1 board.

The game was awful. The graphics were incredibly low resolution
and the control was purely digital - I could get it to use my wheel.

It might be less hassle all round to simply buy a PSX.

But you've just described the problem itself - the demo version does not
support 3D cards, and the PSX resolution is low anyway. Hi-res PSX games
run at 512x380 or something. Speedster used low-res IIRC, so it would
appear even worse.

As for controls, you would need to adjust the Bleem controls as well as
the game setup (assuming Speedster allows the wheel).
