New Rally Trophy Physics Changes

I'm a little dissappointed by these.  Sure they change the suspension and
car performance a little, but they don't fix the road surface physics
AFAICT.  That was my only real gripe with the game to begin with.  Are
people getting over e***d by this or am I missing something?

Cheers

I didn't even really notice anything.

Then again, I'm not sure I even installed them right.  It was very
confusing.

The biggest thing I noticed is the cars are easier to drive.  The brake
problem is fixed so I can finally run the front drive cars.  I really enjoy
driving them not tossing them around corners with a tap of the brakes at
corner entry.

I really wish the suspension was left since it did make the cars a challenge
to drive fast.  I remember these older cars being underdampened even set up
for racing or any competition.

The biggest thing that has changed is the brake issue. They do not lock up
when you lightly touch the brakes, so it is easier to run into the corners
where you need to brake or on almost any corner in a Front driver.

Apparently you have to run the 'BZF manager' once, to make sure it's
associated it with *.rtp files.  After that, when you doubleclick
"Finalv11.rtp", the physics patch is automatically installed (and you have
to replace the rallytrophy.exe as well (?)).

I just wonder which files get updated exactly, so I could make a backup
first. Anyone know that?

I haven't tried them yet, but is there a way to edit surface
properties in RT?  I would think all that would need done is
increasing the drag on the non-tarmac surfaces and simulating depth on
surfaces like mud if the game handles that sort of property.  I would
think that if the surface properties could handle the snow banks in
the game (which IMHO are the most realistic surfaces in RT, even if I
shouldn't be driving on them) then it would be possible to simulate
proper mud, sand, gravel, and grass.

Egads, I put them in place manually.

LOL!  I'm suprised it even boots up :)
