Those roads are wide.....and it looks like a ton of fun :-)

And it's generally a handful to keep the Abarth between ditches at
110kph on a curvy road.. ;)

Care to answer me 3 things?
1. Is this a game or a simulator?
2. will there be an in-car driving view?
3. any multiplayer options planned?

Abarth is a damn fun thing to throw around!

1: Define the difference between game and simulation! Some things
related to that aspect are still on the drawing board, so I can't really
answer that yet. Car physics are very realistic, that much I can say.
2: Yes.
3: Oh yes.

Feel free to pass this article (or the URL, anyway) around to the rest
of the design team as well -- I'd be interested in hearing some
feedback from your perspective, especially with regards to your goals
with Historic Rally Trophy.

Ok, I brought the subject up here and showed the article around..
Rejoice, sim-heads! Rally Trophy (note the name change!) is/will be a
vehicle simulation with intricate detail on the physics involved. Not sure
how much I am allowed to go in detail, but I assure you it's very similar to
GPL on that aspect - if not surpassing it to some extent.
However, tweaking is not required to throw the cars around and have fun
racing. We'll try to suit as many tastes as possible, naturally.
Hope this answered your question!

It sounds like Rally Trophy will be a HUGE surprise for a lot of
people -- maybe WSC won't be the ONLY thing that challenges GPL for
the new sim crown!
Hope you found the article to be an enjoyable read, BTW.
