Thanks for the tip.  I've never heard of Speedvision so I checked out the
link and filled the request form to have my cable company carry it.  Here's
hoping more folks in the bay area do likewise :o)

My cable company (North bay)kept promising ESPN2 and Speedvision for years and I gave up waiting and bought a dish. Cost me about
$5.00 more per month than cable to get the premium channel selection that has Speedvision and ESPN2 but its well worth it! Just
today the Goodwood festival and Australian Touring Cars along with Grand Prix was worth it.

Amen.  I've watched NASCAR for some years, but it sure will be
refreshing to catch the 99 F1 season, BTCC (they make Bristol look
like a walk in the park!), and all the other types of racing covered
by Speedvision.  The Dakar was truly awesome, something I've never
seen before.

Too bad I can't pay a lower rate for a "Speedvison Only" package.  My
wife says I'm strange when she sees me watching a Speedvision rerun
for the 3rd or 4th time... :P

My wife says *I'm* strange for staying up until 3:30 racing with you at
Zandvoort. She has no idea how much fun we had...great race Brett!

Wow, I had seen that before, but never really appreciated it.  After living in
the world of GPL for the last two months, that movie took on a whole new
meaning.  I have more respect for the drivers, and I'm completely awed by
Papyrus.  Except for the color being weak (old film, I guess) the driving
scenes looked EXACTLY like GPL!
It was a riot when the director said there are 450 shifts per lap at Monaco!
That's five gearchanges per second!  He must have gotten confused somewhere
along the line, maybe it was 45.  Then again, maybe that's why I'm so slow.
Well, gotta run.  Think I'll try some new ratios at Monaco.

In the night of the F1 season opener (less than 2 weeks to go),
Grand Prix plus a Lauda docu will be shown on a german satellite
channel, AFAIR Nord 3.
Shoud be easy to receive in the UK via Astra. Unencrypted, no
commercial breaks.
