1967 Grand Prix footage on Speedvision!

by Devo » Tue, 08 Sep 1998 04:00:00

Below is an e-mail message I got from Speedvision in response to my
request for 1967 Grand Prix footage.

Check out http://www.racesimcentral.net/
Speedvision.  Make sure to mark these dates down on your calendar.  You
won't want to miss these!  --Devon

There is a 2 part episode of Legends of Motorsport titled "Nine Days in
Summer." This program chronicles the Cosworth engine from Zandvoort to
the end of the 1967 season - including some spectacular film from Spa,
and there is footage from the Glen.

Mark down Monday September 14th at 6pm eastern and if you miss it - the
show re-airs that night (technically the 15th) at 3:30am for part 1. Part
2 airs the next day (9/15) at the same times. It is Legends of Motorsport
episodes 36 and 37. Of course the schedule is subject to change - so keep
checking the listings.

Also there is a great film called "The Ringmasters" and it is a
documentary of the 1967 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. That stuff
is pretty awesome too - Clark, Gurney, Hulme, and see if you recognize a
very young David Hobbs.

"The Ringmasters" is Legends of Motorsport episode # 44 and it airs next
on Thursday September 24 at 6pm and then again at 3:30am. And, as usual,
the schedule is subject to change.

Hope this gives you a fix for a little while - at least until we turn up
some other stuff.

Good eye buddy! Put yourself in for the sim-racing motorsports Silver
Star <ggg.>
I'll set my vcr for both of these gems. I tried to order 'RingMasters'
from europe but of  course the tape is in PAL format, duh. All the best, Mike

Excellent news,  not only do you get the silver star  , you should
also take 20 bucks out of petty cash for yourself.

Don't forget the movie "Grand Prix" being shown on Speedvision on the 13th,
either!!
It's in LETTERBOX format !! I've got the video, but in full-screen

There will be MINIMAL commercial breaks, and there will be feature special
interviews with the directors of the movie..

This one's not to be missed.. It's Looong, btw (2hrs 51mins)

I'm going to have a full video tape that week.. what a lineup!!
