The "Lost Drive-In" includes REALLY GREAT interviews with James Garner,
David Hobbs, and John Frankenheimer.  They go into tremendous detail
about the making of the film.  DON'T MISS IT!!!

I'll second that recommendation.  One of the annecdotes I recall from
the last time Speedvision ran Grand Prix, was Frankenheimer talking
about how they got all the footage of the drivers' footwork.  They
filmed it at Riverside(!), with Phil Hill and (I think) Richie Ginther
driving up and down a straight with the bodywork off and cameras
mounted to point at their feet.  Both drivers knew Monaco so well that
they could drive down the straight while driving Monaco in their minds,
going through the same pattern of braking, heel-and-toe shifting, and
accelerating.  Fantastic stuff.  You really come away with an
understanding of what a piece of work that movie was, and why it could
never be reproduced today.  (The hokey story is irrelevant.)

Does anyone know if this film will be subject to "Canadian blackout" or not? I
checked my local edition of TV Guide and there's no listing for the film. It's
"NASCAR Today" or something. If I (we) can't get this, I just may collapse into
three catfits and a caniption. HELP!
