The last 30 laps were a blast guys.  Thanks for the good racing!

_Almost_ won the thing, on pit strategy and tires, but it wasn't to be.

Considering the caliber of gents I was racing with at the end, I'll take my
3rd place trophy and be happy :)  Especially since I had some hood damage
from the great "Broken Spring Incident" LOL!

I had a really, really hard time on the restarts after that, though.  There
were a ton of slower cars in front of me, and it was really a bear to get
clear.  There was an odd string of yellows that made it harder too.
Finally, on the 3rd or 4th restart I finally got around, and even led for 5
or 6 laps until the next yellow.

During one of those funky restarts, I got a bit wobbly dealing with the
slower cars and drifted up into someone in turn two and touched them.  I'm
not sure who it was, but SORRY!  I never had a chance to see who it was.

Again, my apologies to whoever that was that I tapped in turn 1.

It was *me*, and I think that given the nature of being behind slower
cars, you were way to aggressive (and your auto-chat messages were
REALLY pissing me off).  Just pass the people and be done with it.

Took a while to get going, but we got there in the end.

Humble apologies once again for bringing out the yellow with 20 to go.
Complete and utter brainfade, no other word to describe it. Easily the
dumbest thing I've done in these races (shifting down to 3rd at 165mph....
not good) and really kicking myself for it.

Ok, so my gamble on fuel didn't pay off by a long shot, but this was just
adding insult to injury. Anyone disadvantaged, feel free to shout at me in
reply to this thread (or by e-mail).

LOL - Jan, I was about to get lapped when you brought out this yellow. I
was praying for one, so maybe it was my fault after all :))

My apologies to John Simmons - Im not sure about it but think I slighty
toughed you in a passing attempt.

I'll shout at you. :-) J/k. I'll probably do something similiar next race
now.

I *think* I had the race wrapped up if you or no one else had brought out
another yellow. I was the only one who pitted at around lap 40 with the
intent to start cruising (about 155 in the turns) in order to make sure the
tires were good for 40 second laps without aero help for the remaining 40
laps. If no more yellows came out, I'd be in great shape. The four guys
ahead of me either had to pit for fuel or would of had to go 50 + laps on
tires and since they were *racing* each other while I hung back a bit, I'm
pretty sure I could of caught and passed them in the later laps when their
tires went off without too much trouble. I say that even though my hood was
a bit crumpled due to that throttle spring bang up, and I was experiencing
those damn freezes. That was the plan anyway.

The last 20 were fun, I held on to the end of the line in fourth but
couldn't get make any ground on any of you to attempt a pass. Last two laps
I just braced for a freeze like I had on lap 11 coming out of T4. :-o

Fun race though, congrats to Ginger, and excellent finish by Brian and Larry
trying to stop the bastard. :-)

Well, I'm sorry it pissed you off, but when I've got 20 knots closure on
slower cars, I AM going to make my intentions clear.  I'm sorry if you don't
like that, but it's standard courtesy and it prevents a lot of incidents.
Cars in front of you don't always know you are that much faster than they
are.

My restarts were HARDLY aggressive.  I was starting off in THIRD gear just
so I didn't get going to fast and run over them.

Again, I'm sorry I pushed up a little and touched you in turn 1.

Remember though, I am not totally responsible for your sucky day...

No sweat, man.  Shit happens :)

I don't think anyone was perfect during that race, including myself.
