ACTLABS Force RS, Logictech WIngman Formula Force, Microsoft FF and Saitek
R4.

These appear to be the wheels of choice.  Obviously GPL is one of the most
used games (at least on this NG), but I also really want to play GP2 with a
wheel, and be able to enjoy gear-changes and brake/accelerator with no
problem.

So, which of the above wheels are happy in the dos environmont?

Thanks all,

Craig

The MS FF works great in a dos-window. And with todays perfromance i guess the
performance hit in GP2 isn't that big from running it in a dos-window.

It won't work with N2 though. Pretty sad because i like the game, just have to
wait a few more months for the new one whatever it is called.

The MSFF works with GP2, but I haven't worked out how to make it work with
split-axis yet,
anyone got any ideas on this.

You need to make a profile and set split axes in the Settings screen.

Yes I worked that bit out ok, but I cant work out how to set it up in GP2.
it only allows you to set functions to X and Y axis.

Yes I worked that bit out, but I cant work out how to set it up in GP2,
it only lets you set functions to X and Y axis.

Ok. In GP2 in control method make the following settings:
Steering: Joy A Horiz
Acceleration: Joy A Vert
Brake: Joy B Horiz
Clutch: Use gear change
Change up: Joy A Fire 1 (represents the top left button on the wheel)
Change down: Joy B Fire 2 (top right button)
And select Control driven calibration

Then calibrate.

If you want to use the buttons on the back:
Change up: Space
Change down: Alt
and assign those keys to the correct buttons in the Sidewinder profile.

Good luck!

On Fri, 16 Jul 1999 15:23:34 +0100,

GP2 can use more axes than that. It even supports an
analog clutch axis. I suggest you try again.
