Help with Nascar2

by Psionis » Fri, 19 Dec 1997 04:00:00

Hi all,

I've just bought Nascar2, I know I very late ;-)
The problem is I can't use my CH Flightstick wich works perfectly with GP2
or FS98.
It is recognised by the setup prog and Win95, but there is no way to
calibrate it in N2 options menu :(
Who can help please ?

Many thanks in advance

1.  N2 will treat your Flightstick as a regular joystick.  I've got a
Wingman Digital Extreme, and it treats the main stick as JS1 and the hat as
JS2 (Y-axis only).  You'll probably have to play around with it a bit to
figure out what buttons are mapped where.  On mine, the trigger is JS1-1
and the big thumb button is JS1-2.  The other two buttons are JS2-1 and -2,
and the throttle control isn't recognized at all.

2.  Are you running Win95 OSR2 with a FAT32 file system?  If so, there is a
known bug that N2 will not recognize your joystick.  Download the patch
from Papyrus' home page to fix the problem.  Download it even if this isn't
your configuration, because it fixes some other problems as well.

Go get the patches for N2 from www.sierra.com or some other sites like
www.theuspits.com. An early bug in N2 was that joysticks/wheels were
not correctly regonised in Win95 verion B only (I think). The patches
fix this, a lot of other stuff, plus add a save game feature, woohoo!

If you can load your computer in to pure DOS and know about DOS
CD/Sound card drivers etc.. you can at least use your flightstick
until you can get the patch...

Thanks..
