Viper Racing a real sport?

Is Viper Racing based on a real sport? Is it anywhere near as realistic as
GPL? I just like to know before I spend time downloading the demo. Tx.

That 700 hp GT Viper what is top car on career mode is much like Vipers used
in FIA GT Series in GT2 category. And they beat Porsche 911s.

Yes, and yes.  Viper Racing is not a sport in itself (there is no Viper Challenge like
there is a Neon Challenge ...hey Dodge, what's up with that?) but the Viper GTS-R
has competed in every major motor racing event alongside Porsches...and this year
the French Oreca team has been *** their pants!  FIA recently put a weight
penalty on the Vipers because they were *** the Porsche's so bad...  ;]

Realisic?  Yep, you bet.  While it's not quite as in detail with chassis setup like
GPL is, for the person who said that it's not realistic...mmmm...I beg to differ.
You're comparing a 1998 street car with radial tires to a 1967 open-wheel bias
ply car.  We at The Pits are covering it as a simulator, and they guys at MGI are
doing their best to listen to what people have to say and put it together...

Cheers!

Shouldn't that have been "I think the game is pretty shitty?  This guy can't
even conjegate his sentences correctly!  Do not listen to him.  Viper is a
very fun game.
The download is reletively small and well worth the hour it takes on a
33.6.
It can compare to other top sims in realism.  One MUST remember however
that Viper is simulating a stock street car, not an open wheel IRL car.  It
is not built to take turns at 1.5g's, its just meant to look kewl and be fun
to drive, just like viper racing looks kewl and is fun to drive.

You own a real Viper???  Where do you live?  Or better yet where do you keep
the car? <g>

I just did 20 laps in the sim, and had a blast (couldn't break 1:02,
however). If I did the same thing in my real Viper, I'd be buying a new set
of tires, new brake pads, oil change, P/S fluid flush..... so I just saved
myself over $1000!
