I've emailed Dave 3 times in the last 3 weeks asking if theres another way
to purchase the N2002 converter. He has never replied.  I give up on it, has
anyone been able to get an alternative method for buying ? I've seen guys
suggest emailing Dave but was wondering has Dave ever actually replied to
anyone ? If so maybe they could share that Information.

I've emailed David Noonan about 1 1/2 years ago when I needed to
replace the original converter for GPL when I  formated and just plain
forgot to copy those files.  David not only emailed me, but had the record
of my purchase and emailed me the files again.

As for an alternate way to purchase the converter, I don't think that
Noonan offers it any other way.

I had a very weird problem with some converted tracks (the cars were
placed a couple of feet above the ground at the start, resulting in a
very interesting start of the race) and with a couple of emails he
figured out the problem for me.

When the GPL-convertor came out, I couldn't get it either.
What I did :
I asked a GPL-buddy to mail it to me after I promised him to pay Mr. Noonan
of course.
He mailed the puppy to me, and I paid Mr. Noonan by means of a standard
foreign transaction.
He mailed me back a couple of days later to thank me for being so honest.

I just wished David accepted Paypal payments. I would make it so easy for us
here in the states to buy his converter

And it doesn't seem to be a secure site...
That worries me too...

I really wish I had someone to do this for me as well.  I'm more than
willing to pay for the converter just dont have a way to do it. Thats why I
was asking if anyone had ever actually discussed alternate payment methods
with Dave personally.  Thanks for the replies all.

Why don't you just get a mate with a credit card to do it, and give him
the cash?

As easy as it is these days to get a credit card I just don't understand
this pay pal obsession people seem to have. Hell even if your credit sucks
you can get a pre paid card similar to a phone card.

I would prefer Kagi.  I don't really trust PayPal...

On what grounds? I've use it for over a year without trouble. Is there
something I should know?

Some people don't WANT a credit card.  I know *my* life would be a lot easier
if I had never gotten one...

I'll give you the last part. However whats the differance between Pay Pal
and say using a Visa card that draws off your checking account?

The only way to keep your money is not to spend it, but were is the fun in
that? :)

If you pay of the CC in full every month, nothing.

You're not spending your money when you use a CC.  You're spending money you
haven't EARNED yet...  If you already had it, you wouldn't need the CC... :-)

Not quite.  In 23+ years of uisng a CC I have only not paid the whole
balance twice.

But they are becoming more and more necessary for me.  Because of my
handicap it is often cheaper to buy off the web and pay the delivery charges
then to pay for a taxi and buy it locally (and much less fuss and bother).
