I'm running GPL, Viper Racing, and SCGT on an AMD K6-2 300 system with
an Intergraph Intense3D (4 Mb) card and a Canopus Pure 3D (6 Mb Voodoo
card), and they all run great.  A Celeron system and a 12 Mb Voodoo2
card should rock.

Hi ,

This is a good system But get a Voodoo 3 2k instead of the voodoo 2
that will cost you the same because you dont have to buy a 2D card

Your new system will fly.  If you purchase the VooDoo3 as suggested by
Jarno, it'll fly even faster with better FPS.

I'm running a 300a OC'd to 450 with an ATI XPERT 98 PCI, Guillemot VooDoo2
12 meg and it rocks.  My next upgrade will be the VooDoo3.

And you won't be sorry. I just upgraded my 300a system running at 450 with a
Voodoo3 3000 , it is awesome.

I would wait a week to see if GPL 1.1 is good with the TNT2. The voodoo3 is
still a good choice, but TNT2 may be better.

Keith.

Good idea Keith.  I'll wait.

Thanks for the tip.

Hello,
I'm thinking of purchasing a pc with and Intel 400A (celeron), Voodoo II 12
meg( creative pacific), ABIT6 Moterboard, 128 meg of ram. I hope to clock
this to near 500.

How does this sound for GPL, Vidper Racing and other popular car SIMS ?

Thanks in advance

I run GPL with a C400 on an Asus P2B, Matrox Mystique G200A, and Canopus Pure
3D II (VooDoo 2) board and it is fabulous.  Great frame rates and beautiful
looking picture.

I've got a Celeron 300a (clocked to 450) with 128Mb pc100 ram, 1 x 12Mb V2
card on an Abit BX6 mb, and GPL rocks!!!! as does all my other racing
sims/games.

However, if I was building my pc again or upgrading I'd go for the BH6 m/b
though, as it apparently supports more busspeeds which helps o'clocking?

And why not get a V3 card instead of a separate 2D & 3D card? they cost
about the same now (Get a V3 2000 card and o'clock it to 3000 spec) NO!!
don't ask me how, you need to change a registry setting. Read Tom's
hardware page or somewhere similar for the full details.
