MGPRS2 and Logitech Wingman FF

by Slinge » Mon, 16 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I read the review about the Logitech FF wheel at www.mgprs2.com : "You can
experience the sliding of the car and lack of grip" it says. Allthough I can
experience all of the other FF-effects in MGPRS2, sliding and lack of grip
are effects I've never experienced with my wheel. I've downloaded the latest
drivers and patches but nothing will help. Is there anybody who knows the
solution of my problem? It would be so much more fun.

Thanks,

Ruud

Hello Ruud,

Sorry to be a bit picky but there's only one solution: Switch over to GPL.
Compared to this sim the so-called FF effects in MGPRS2 are really pathetic!
Try it and believe it. The only effects you really feel in MGPRS2 (besides a
nice (but useless) down-shift vibe) are those when you're already off the track
(IMO) thus too late.

Once again if you really want to experience state-of-the-art FF: GPL!!!!!!!!

(IMO this simulator beats MGPRS2 (or whatever other race-sim) on every other
aspect too (even without FF)).

Thanks Jan,

I do know now there is nothing wrong with the wheel but are the most exiting
parts of FF missing in MGPRS2 (and most other Racing sims)
Maybe it's time for GPL. I havn't heard a bad thing about it. Except that
it's certainly not easy. But isn't that the fun of playing sims.

Please please, don't turn this into another GPL is better conversation!

The only problem with MGPRS2 is that the all effects except the kerbs are
very weak....... they are there but they are very weak..... theres not much
you can do but set the force to as high a setting as you can and get the
.dll file from F1RS if you can, its different but some people perefer it

I don't know about other sims (I've heard that Viper Racing does a good FF job
too) but I do know that something definitely is missing in MGP. I own the LWFF
for a month now and had it demonstrated to several friends. I start with MGPRS2
and they say: Hey that's cool, you can actually notice you're on the grass or
hit that wall.....yeah, right! Then I switch over to GPL and they are really
stunned!

Enough said. Go and get GPL (have a look at www.interactcd.com, I bought it for
US$15 + US$10 shipping), you won't be disappointed. Take into account you won't
appreciate MGP anymore however.

Have the same setup and love the effects.
Can feel them all.
