I keep running in the 1:19-1:23 range and they are
Turn off aids where possible.
Brake sooner, turn earlier and less, accelerate sooner.
GPL style slip angles round turns will slow you down - try
to keep the slip minimal. Yes modern F1 cars do drift and
slide but nowhere near the extent of pre aero like GPL.
Concentrate on the next straight as opposed to getting
the car all out of shape under late braking. It's ok
to lose some speed on the entry if you can get an extra
10mph terminal speed on the next straigh section.
Use your downforce! - the faster you go, the more grip
you have so try experimenting with mid-corner speeds.
Have a play with your setups and try to create some
mechanical grip to complement your downforce.
Check the race replays for lines and corner speed of
your opponents to work out which sections you can get
faster on.
Practice!!
Smoothness is key.
Just some thoughts...

The annoying part is when you can do 1:16s at Silverstone and are still
3-4secs off the "alien's" best lap times!!
