GPL: diamond mx300 - minor problem

by zzz » Wed, 16 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Just installed a new Diamond mx300. GPL has little pops or crackles in the
sound for all engines. It's really not that bad, but definitely noticeable.
Other sound functions and other games are ok, just GPL.

I had an onboard sound card before, and the good news is that the mx300
boosted the frame rate noticeably and allows me to run with more that more
than 4 sounds without any performance hit. Plus, when I calibrate my
joystick in win95 the little crosshair actually sits still!

Anyone else with similar experiences??

GPL: diamond mx300 - minor problem

I had an MX200, which I loved, but I got rid of it because there were
little pops or crackles in the sound for all engines... :)

I bought a SoundBlaster Live Value for $99 and couldn't be
happier--even with headphones (which was unbearable with the Diamond).
