PDPI L4 vs Diamond MX300

How does the PDPI L4 compare to the Diamond Monster MX300 in regards
to the gameport ?

Are either of these gameports digital in both Windows and DOS ?

Is the L4 faster or more precise than the MX300 gameport ?

Will both of these cards work with the upcoming TM Nascar Pro Digital
Wheel ?

Which is a better gameport choice for N2 and GPL ?

They should, though you'll be able to bypass the cards entirely by
using USB.

Neither is digital in DOS, but the PDPI can fall back to analog mode for
DOS games, whereas the Monster Sound gameport doesn't support DOS at
all.

Not that you could tell... in digital mode, you'd be hard pressed to
tell them apart.

Will it rain a week from next Friday?

Having used them both, I still like a good analog gameport... I use a CH
Gamecard3 at work, and the gameport on a Soundblaster Live! at home. If
DOS games are a concern at all, go for the PDPI over the Monster tho.

Unlike the original MonsterSound cards the MX300 based on the Vortex2
chip and should be fully backwards compatable in real-mode DOS.

How did you get your hands on an MX300?

Oops... I'll have to be more careful before replying, I didn't realize
we were talking specifically about the MX-300 here... My reply was based
on my experience with the original Monster Sound and the M-80 variant. I
have yet to see an MX-300 card.

Thanks Eric for catching the error, and sorry for any confusion my hasty
reply may have caused...

The MX300 is coming soon. The Monster Sound, Monster Sound MX200, and
Monster Sound M80 are the currently available models.
