Just picked up the game and would like to start doing some
laps.  Which car would you recommend I begin with to get a
feel of the game?  I see there are a few cars but would like
to have something I can stay on the track with.

thanks for the help
Mike

Start in an F2 or F3 i.e. Advanced or Basic trainer.  The F1s are monsters.
But when you must drive F1, the Ferarri is relatively easy and sounds
fantastic.

The Cooper (or Coventry in GPL) is almost universally regarded as the
friendliest car.
Go to: alison.simracing.com/gpl  to download some very driveable Cooper
setups, and to read up on everything else you might want to know about GPL.

The Honda (murasama) is really docile, the Cooper (coventry) is easy too and
the BRM can be chucked around with wild abandon if your on the agressive
side.

Circuit wise Silverstone and Monza are the easiest to start with.

now you've tasted the delights of GPL you can kiss your free time goodbye

Have fun

Definitely Cooper (coventry), and best not to mess with setups yet, apart
from maybe reducing the fuel load.  I still use the default setups even now,
and I've been playing GPL on and off since the day it was released.

Best tracks to start with - monza, watkins glen and silverstone.  Monza is
by far the easiest.

Whoa - and you're still faster than me.  I shudder to think what my ranking
would be if I went back to default settings...<g>

You're getting alarmingly close though :)
