CH Pedals - Urgent opinion sought

I have 'em.  They're excellent.  I use them in both of those games and many
flight sims.  An early complaint was that you would get some plane horizontal
motion when in car mode (though that motion doesn't send a signal due to the
selector switch position).  They now sell them with a couple of little plastic
chock inserts to prevent this.

Solid construction, not too huge, reasonably styled, so far CH reliability
(very good).  Best price of any pedals, except for their own CH Pedals (not
pro) which only have the car-type motion and sell for less than $50.

Recommended wholeheartedly.

I just bought a set a couple of months ago and I love 'em. My lap times in
NASCAR went up significantly after a few days of getting accustomed to
them. I briefly tried them with IndyCar and they were great, but after
running NASCAR in hi-res, I rarely play IndyCar anymore (anxiously waiting
for IndyCar II).

Hi All

I've got the chance to buy some CH Pro Pedals for Flight Sims. Are these
okay for brake/accelerator control on IC and F1GP? I have to let the
guy know soon so any opinions/advice would be welcome. Are these the
best (resonably priced) pedals?

Many thanks

Alan

Hmmm, two Dave's responded responded to your query.  I previously mentioned I
did use them for flight sims too.  Email bounced so, to elaborate...

Yes, I use them for both flight sims and ICR/F1GP.  They work great for both.
On the CH Pro Pedals, there's a switch on the base to choose from the two
modes. In car sims, the left pedal is on the stick2 x-axis, the right is the
y-axis (I might have that backwards), so the game has to support it as such
(which the above games do.  Thus I assume all future Papyrus/Crammonds sims
will too).  In flight mode, the control is the more traditional stick2 x-axis
only. Swinging the pedals one way gives minimum signal, the other max.  This
frees the x-axis for throttles, etc (like on the CH Pro stick, which I also
have, or a CH/TM throttle).

I understand the cheaper, non-pro, CH Pedals have closer spacing, and just the
car-motion. But still have the selector for either type of functional
operation.

>Thanks Dave, I think I'll get them. BTW, do you use them for flight sims as
>well? Is there a switch on the pedals which makes them operate
>dependently (for flight sims) and independently ( for auto sim

The Pro pedals do have a switch for flight sims that switches the pedals to
a single axis. The new ones also have a pair of plastic inserts that stop
the slide motion for use in racing sims. There's also an auxilliary port
for flight sim mode that routes the pedal "push" motion to another joystick
port which could be used to control toe brakes. I don't think anyone
supports this yet, but as sims come out for Win'95, you might see some of
them take advantage of this.

If you buy a Thrustmaster Formula T1 or T2, you will be able to use the pedals
as rudders in flight sims as well as throttle/brakes. So not only will you get
the best wheel/pedal combo around for driving sims, you'll realize your flight
sim potential options too. Shop around for the best deal you can get.

      HI,
I got the CH Pro Pedals and I use them in F1GP !
With theVirtual Pilot pro Flightstick its a great feeling
in F1GP. Ok, its normally suggested for Flight Sims,
but its okay for F1GP !
One thing I have to mention :
You cannot brake and accelerate at the same time.
That means, you have to go down from the accelerator
       and than you can brake.
But I think thats not so interesting.
You 'll like this great Driving Feeling !!
I can't wait for Formula One Grand Prix II !

                  Have a nice day
              Greetings from Germany
