Wingman Formula Wheel and N3 help please

by btgos » Sat, 24 Mar 2001 05:26:21

Hello.
I just hooked up an older Logitech Wingman Formula (Yellow) wheel to my new
computer. (The USB connection is better than using my better wheel with the
PCI128 soundcard I have right now...but that will change)
Anyway. The wheel is fairly nice...a little light...but ok...
However it is not recoginized by Nascar 3. GPL, DTR, and N4 all pick up the
wheel no problem.
Is there some kind of issue with N3?
If it helps my system specs are as follows.
Athlon 900 Mhz T-Bird
Asus A7V133 Mobo
Geforce 2MX
384 MB of PC-100 (can you see where I ran out of free cash?)
Soundblaster PCI 128 soundcard
Logitech Formula Yellow w/USB

Any help would be great thanks.

(I tried a search at the old Dejanews...but it really sucks now.)

The two most likely issues;
-make sure you use the latest drivers from Logitech (the ones that came with
the wheel don't work well or at all)
- DirectX 7.0a is a must

When downloading the Logi drivers also get the Windows installer in case
your running Win98. You'll need it to do the install

N3 has two choices for  wheel imputs...a Direct X check box and a papyrus
optimized driver.  Make sure the DX box is checked and you should be
off and driving...
