Toca Hot Laps

I have just visited the Codemasters site to look at the Hall of Fame and was
somewhat surprised to see that one guy was regularly 5 or 6 seconds a lap
quicker than anyone else?  What's this guy on, is he cheating?  I have just
spent a whole evening driving around Croft getting faster and faster, flat
out everywhere possible and on the edge everywhere else.  Still I can't get
within 6 seconds of his time using the same car?  Maybe I am just ***or is
there a way to make the cars faster?

Charlie, this has got me puzzled as well. I have made it onto the
Codemaster page for Thruxton, but I am 5 seconds behind that bloke. I am
at a loss as to where I can find 5 seconds.
I would love to see his hot lap.

Charlie,
I would have to agree with Todd.  I've managed to get around Thruxton in
1:06:95 and yet I see this guy who's done around 1m dead.   I can't see any way
possible - with the standard car - of driving around this track 7s faster given
that most of the track is driven flat out.  Around Donington GP he's a whopping
12s faster than anybody else.  I find it amazing that Codemasters leaves his times
posted. Nobody can be THAT much faster than the rest of the world without cheating
in some way.

John.

Anyone got any suggestions as to HOW he is cheating. If you use the XBOOSTME
cheat, the game will not give out a checksum, I already tried that.

Is it possible to work out the code?

Jonathan

I've only just got the game and my best time at Snetterton was 1m15. Cut a few
corners and down to 1m01!!
Take the first corner flat, the second lift off, for the left-right section,
cut acroos the grass straight after the bridge, across the track, brake, go
left of the wall, get on the the track, drive off then just miss the last
chicane totally driving across the grass. That was also a far from perfect lap.
(Auto gears too)
I'm sure that it is possible to do it on other tracks, even if it is not worth
14s!

Yeh,  like I said it can only be done by cheating.  Try driving on the road - that
is the purpose of the game after all.  Why do people insist on posting times
achieved in a manner that would have them booted out of a real race?  What is the
satisfaction in doing this?

I was makig the point, that it is possible to gain time by cheating. I'm not
going to post I time by cheating. Any 1m01 is still too slow to get in the
codemasters HOF.
