weekend? I noticed that the best lap times were
in the region of 1:17. That's way outside the best
laps on Jonathan Hills TOCA site. Why such a big
difference?

I would guess that it's easier to cut corners in the
game than it is in real life.
John
Comparing the event program's estimation of cornering speeds/gear's it is
quite off. Most of the corners on the back section require braking and a lift
off or two, and that's just not evident in the game.
Plus, i think you'll find most of the real life boys don't quite throw it over
the chicane.
Interestingly, watching the cars going through the complex shows how difficult
it is to overtake there- mainly it's done going up the hill towards the
chicane.
Can't help but wish that TOCA 2 would include the toca package...
Vaxhaull Jr's/Sri challange
Renault Spiders/ Formula Renault Sport
Ford Fiesta/ Formula Ford...
now wouldn't that be some great fun? :)
btw, it seems to me that Thruxton is probably the least authentic in toca
tourign car- the run off's and fences are just not right at most points of the
circuit.
(granted, i haven't been to Knockhill yet, but i hopefully plan on getting
this to change...)
