GPL O'Ring: broken cars on the racing line

by Michael Youn » Sat, 12 Feb 2000 04:00:00

I've never seen so many broken cars as at the O'Ring. And, for better or for
worst, the ones that don't buy a guardrail just stop dead on the racing
line, just like online racers do. It's bad enough when the bottom-feeding
tail-markers do it; I presumed this was sim-reality at its highest. However,
Gurney ran out of gas with 2 laps to go, and I naturally didn't see the
white flag coming out of Hella (too focused on Bandini's gearbox). I didn't
have even half a chance with the four car pileup; crashed and burned on this
one. Is this a function of the AI being less refined for add-on tracks? Or
do the sims have as much difficulty there as we do?

Michael.
