F1 2001 - first impressions!?!

Know what you mean Dave, but they are not as bad as some are making out.
anyway, absolute track accuracy is down my list of priorities. I'd rather
have a sim that drives and feels good, is a challenge in a race, and looks
good as a bonus with some inaccuracy on tracks, than one which feels like a
dog but has every kerb millimetre perfect!

agreed :-)

Contrary to what one person said here, I actually enjoy the sounds as well.
The progressively louder wind sound as speed increases is a nice touch.

F1 2001 - first impressions!?!

In my view the sounds are easily the best in a modern F1 sim to date.

Especially when played LOUD - Not sure my family agrees though :-)

Nope -  not a single one!
The demos, reviews and not to mention all the complaints here is
warning/reason enough for me.
Besides - no *real* online racing = no sale.

You are definitely missing out on this one, it is truly awesome, I REALLY
don't know where Iain's complaints come from, nearly all the points he
raised aren't in my F1 2001.

I had no intention of upgrading :-) But if I did it would probably

Fair enough<g>
I have F12K and F1CS - they're ok, even though I haven't played them recently.
The online aspect isn't as big a deal as it seems to be for you.  At least I
can slow DOWN the AI so I can compete.  Online...not so much... :-)

F1 2001 - first impressions!?!

by briGu » Thu, 18 Oct 2001 15:33:28

There is a widely known issue with the 21-series drivers and F1 2001 not
working w/ each other.  Switch to 7.58's or 12.41/12.90 and this game will
take on a new life.  I'm dead serious.

P.s.: Go here for all your questions - we've been through all this before:
