F1 2001 cars disappear?

Olaf tried to help but couldn't remember the site.  Anyone know how to
adjust the cars ahead from disappearing so quickly (yes, I do have my foot
on the throttle :)  He mentioned some setting in the cars directory
config.ini file.  TIA

Go to \F12001\Save\ open the default.cfg and under the
LocalCam=COCKPIT headfing change LODMultiplier=(1.000000)
to 3.000000 or 4.000000.

edit default.cfg in the 'save' folder and change the lod value in
localcam=cockpit to 3 or 4.
