GPL and Geforce 3..

Hi all...just loaded up a geforce 3 card. N4 looks great (however now it
seems to run best in open gl as compared to d3d with my voodoo 5 card).

However I am a bit disappointed in gpl. I have the rasterizer loaded and
have read eric cote's article and tweaks. Seems like I will be stuck unless
someone helps out :o) running gpl in d3d with no fsaa. gpl will always be #1
with me. It is nice to run it at a bit higher resolution but I would expect
a bit more. I tried tweaking a bit but some strange things started to
happen. A pinkish color to the screen before entering the track along with
some garbled textures.

Does anyone have some tips or info that would help me out. My system is
definitely strong enough to support some of the things I expected out of
this card.

Thanks in advance...

Hi Dave,
I just ignore the pink screens and hurry up and go to the pits. You
can still access the car setup etc., those screens don't seem to
distort as bad, if any at all.  I use NVmax to start GPL and I
recommend doing alot of experimenting w/ the settings in there (I
don't mess with over clocking the gpu tho, not yet any way, card is
too new and too many $$$$$.)  Eric Cotes article and tips is
excellent.

This only happens when you use FSAA

2 things to consider:

1. Why use Geforce FSAA? compared to the 3DFx Voodoo 5 5500 it's total ***
2. BUT it's so powerful that I run GPL at 1600x1200 with full field/full
36fps
at that resolution the 'jaggies' are almost eliminated

I have the (Brilliant) Elsa card, but have the V5500 installed in a 2nd
computer for 1st person games like Deux Ex which runs far better under
openGL than D3D ever will.
