Modem Play bad NFSIISE

by Steve Ferrant » Sun, 01 Mar 1998 04:00:00

I'm having major problems racing over the modem.  I've tried to play against
2 other guys and at least one of us have big problems each time.  One of us
always has problems with steering.  It seems like the steering response is
about a second delayed which results in the car going down the track like a
pinball bouncing from wall to wall.  We've tried different modem speeds,
flow control, error correction.  No Help.  Has anyone else had this problem?
We have the hardware to support this but the performance is horrible.  And
forget about TCP over the net.

You may find this to be unfixable.  NFS-SE the original version also had
this lag in controller input, but it happend on BOTH computers.

Maybe they partially fixed it by fixing it on one computer.  That means
that they should have the other half fixed by NFS-III-SE.  :)
