I am Redline pedals and I agree with Dave about some games refusing work in
split axis mode. EA Sports F12001 is one of them. Doesn't matter what
driver I use. Custom, is the only one that tends to work at all well.
However with all Papy games (Indy1 to N2002) I can have them set to dual or
single with either the Generic or DirectX drivers and they work perfectly
as expected. Viper Racing was another that work very well. GP2 did, GPL
does, clutch and all. Screamer 2 work very well. Even Racer in it's infancy
works very well in Split axis mode. These games can be run either through
the game port or the Rockfire USB adapter, it doesn't matter. The Rockfire
just make all axis very stable.
So in defence of my RRC pedals that I make I beleive it is the controller
coding that is at fault with the odd game. Windows "sees" the RRC in any
mode I wish to set them in. They calibrate correctly and tests well in
Windows yet go to F12001, select the Windows controller and , bam , nothing
works right. Run them as a custom unit and all is well bar they have to be
in single axis mode. EA's V8 Challenge is also a little dodgy to setup.
As far as I'm concern some sims are way over complicated in their controller
setups. Papy simple have it right.
