i dont have such a card, but from everything i read, the cards need
cpu power to be fast.
it surely will increase the speed on very fast cpus, but i think i have
read that you will only see differences above 600 mhz or so.

but i may be wrong.

I've been considering a GeForce 2 MX myself, they seem relatively cheap at
the moment. Anyone know if you can use FSAA in GPL with one of these?

Cheers
Jim

Erm, now I'm confused. Do you mean that you CAN use FSAA in GPL on a GeForce
2 MX, but only when playing offline? Doesn't seem to make much sense to me,
I thought your graphics settings were independent of how you launched
GPL.....

There is a bug in GPLLaunch which prevents GPL from starting if you have
FSAA enabled.  The only way you can race online with FSAA enabled is to join
the server direct via its IP address.

From what I've heard, the FSAA locks up gpl when run online.  I don't know
why...   When the 3dfx V5's first came out they too had problems getting a
race
to start with 2xfsaa enabled.  4x worked fine, but the frame-rate hit was
huge.
And that was both offline and online.  Later drivers fixed that problem.  I
haven't run
GPL online for a good while...leagues and F1cs  pulled me away for awhile.
So
I'm not sure how the 3dfx runs fsaa online at this point.  I don't think
there is a problem
there tho.  But...from what I've seen here, fsaa on a nvidia card won't work
online.
Perhaps somebody else can fill in the details.
