Make that Honda a straight six and I'm with you all the way.  Having seen
what Papyrus have done with the physics in GPL and the amount of data for
the Nurburgring, I am beginning to see simulating the TT as a real
possibility at last.

FANTASTIC idea -- the one area lacking for motorcycle sims, though, is
a decent controller.  Surely somebody like TSW or ECCI has thought of
what it would take to produce a decent motorcycle controller with
handlebars and a throttle grip instead of a throttle pedal.  Bicycle
frames are soooo inexpensive that anybody with a little gumption
should be able to capture the market as a cottage industry, it would
seem.

Once the controllers become available, look for motorcycle sims to
take off the way driving sims are now.

As long as it could fit in bevel-drive Ducatis, I'd be all over it. I doubt
anyone could get the sound right, but I'd like to see them try.

My dad has got some BBC records of bike just screaming down the straights at
famouse circuits during the 50's and 60's. Perfect for making smaples from.
Plus there are enough restored bikes still racing for them to get modern
samples.

The V6 MV Augusta raced recently at Phillip island by Giacomo Agostini could
be heard miles away. Can't remember what a straight 6 Honda sounds like.

Have you ever seen V4 Victory with Hailwood racing around the Isle Of Man on
the V4 Honda? One of the earliest, and best, examples of onboard camera work.

And if the sim is realistic the British bike can leave big puddles of oil
whenever they stop for a few minutes!

2 Vincent Black Lightning engines strung together in a frame? seem to
recall something in the club mag about it a while ago.. but i'm a bit

Great video, but I'm pretty sure that was "Yer Maun" Joey Dunlop riding
the V4 Honda.

I love his "this bit's really quack..." as the village walls streak past
at 180mph+
