Historic Bike SIM?

Historic Bike SIM?

All you guys go on about how dangerous the 66-67 F1 cars were. How about
a sim for Old bikes like Manx Norton's. MV Augusta's and V4 Honda's etc.
Imagine racing around the Isle of Man or the Nurburing on 2 inch wide
tyres with drum brakes!

And the sound's...pure music to a petrol head.

As for danger...I sat down with a friend once and quickly made a list of
over 50 riders we have seen or heard of dying whilst racing. We could of
made the list larger but we were getting a bit morbid about the whole
thing. My father, who used to make the factory Manx bikes in the 50's,
has told me of several instances where three or four riders in a team
arriving at a race meeting and only one or two surviving to make the
trip home. He told me of one poor bloke who used to race in the 50's and
lost three sons in a short matter of time in the late 50's and early
60's to racing accidents. (Thing is there are still members of the
family racing today.....).

Come on you developers out there who read the newsgroup....give it a go.

I would love to beat Agostini, Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts, Geoff Duke,
Mike Hailwood, John Surtees etc etc.

I think Eric is thinking of the 50cc twins such as the Suzuki and Honda of
the era.  They may have had 18 gears but the 250-6 didn't.  The 50cc Honda
parallel twin (four stroke) was revved to over 23,000 rpm in race
conditions.  A 125cc 5 cylinder was built  but not developed because of rule
changes.

I saw that bike going around the Gilles Villeneuve track for a few laps some years ago as a prelude to the F1 Grand Prix when bikes were also racing there.

I'm not sure about the 18 gears but it was, to say the least, SCREAMING...and yes, it was Mike Hailwood ( Mike the Bike ) riding the bike in the '60's.
  How about a Honda RC66 ? 6 cylinders at 18000 rpm on a 250cc machine with
18 gears.... These figure are all true, from HRC back in 1967.
Don't remember the name of the driver (think it's Mike Hailwood), but what i know
is the guys following him, got scorched hearing. It was a SCREAAAMER !!!

Is good. I have completely changed my setups to longer track and more
rake angle. This has helped my tyre wear but I really miss the quick
flip flops changes and the powerslides but if you want your tyres to
last a race its the only choice.

Can't remember the 6 Cylinder Honda but 18000 R.P.M......amazing.
