As it turns out, I have one of those DVD-ROM players that Nascar 4 doesn't
like. Can't make it spin slower, no updated firmware either. It seems
there's a no-cd patch, but I can't find it. Does anyone have a URL?

I had a problem with my DVD-drive that I have to start up N4 from 1 to
15 times before it finally kicks in. A very good no-cd hack i read
here (dave henrie?) was to use cloneCD and make a image of the cd on
the harddisk. Then I used Daemon Tools (?) to make a virtual cd rom of
that image. Works like a charm and N4 starts every time, and I don't
have to bother with the cd anymore.
