I'm considering moving to a laptop for various reasons.  I've pretty
much decided on the Compaq Presario 900 series.  It has the ATI
Mobility Radeon Graphics with up to 64MB DDR Shared Video Memory.

Will this machine run GPL okay?

Bring the game where you will most likely purchase the machine and try it
before you buy it. Should be fine, but you want to make sure the sound chip
is compatible.

Have you looked at the the new Area 51-M laptop from Alienware? It's so
beautiful it brings tears to the eyes <G>.

This thing will run GPL and a 1/2 ...

It is beautiful.  Too bad its out of my price range :(

I have a DELL C800 PIII 800 ATI M4 32MB  OS is WinXP Proff XPSP1

GPL runs very well.  I needed to install the 1.2 update, the D3D update.
