MS Sidewinder non-FF pedal springs

by Jim Seamu » Wed, 04 Jul 2001 04:38:55

Hi all,

I posted a while ago about my Sidewinder non-FF brake return pedal spring
shearing away. MS sent me a complete replacement unit (wheel and pedals)
which was fab, but at the weekend I had a bunch of mates round to stay and a
combination of a few lagers and an enthusiastic Monaco hotlap competition
with the F1RC demo has taken out one of the springs in my new pedal set too.

Twenty minutes with a screwdriver means that I now have one set of pedals
that's fine and one old set in which both springs are bust. I'm alright for
now but if another spring should go I'm not sure that MS will keep sending
me entire wheel/pedal assembly replacements (!) so I thought if I could pick
up half a dozen springs from somewhere it might keep me going for the next 6
months!

Anyone know where to get them? Perhaps you've seen some in B+Q or somewhere?
UK places would be best.

Thanks in advance
Jim

I normally don't buy extended warranties, but I couldn't pass up on Best
Buy's $9.95 three-year replacement guarantee.

Walk in with the old one, walk out with a totally new retail box.

I used it when I had the Logitech Force GP.  Twice.  I finally asked to
return that wheel altogether and exchange it for the MSFFW.  I was beyond
the 30 days by about 10 days.  They said as long as I also bought the $9.95
warranty.

No problem, I said :)

They don't always have the best price, but you can't beat their excange
policy (except for software, which sucks).
