Are the drivers for XP out yet?  I have the sidewinder
precision wheel.

The wheel should still work, you just can't use the 3.02 profiling software.
I have the MSFF usb wheel and it works fine under XP, but it uses v4.01
profiling software and that works on XP too.

It works without the sidewinder software (detects it as a regular usb
device) but I don't get separate axis' for my brake and gas pedals.  I
don't really care about the profiling software.  Do you get separate
axis for gas and brake?

I run mine as a hid compliant game controller as well and DO get seperate
axis for brake and gas.

Hmmm...I'll have to try that.

No, I thought the software worked becasue it installed fine (although XP
whined about it) and all the options are there and it tests fine, but upon
setting it to split axis and setting it up in F12001 I see brake and gas
pedals are both on Y axis. :-(
I bet MS never releases an update to fix it either, even though it would
probably be a trivial matter.

Did you have to do anything special?  It was detected as a HID device
during installation of XP but I don't get separate axis.

Niether can I. I played around with device manger and game controllers last
night and forced it to use a few drivers that are not meant for it and none
gave me split axis.

Until last night, when I got a Momo, I used the USB MSFFW and 4.0 software
on XP Home with no problems.  Have been since RC1 all the way up through
release 2600.

F1-2001 is a different story.  That game has issues under XP.  I've never
gotten it to work right.

All my others work fine.

EA Sports is notorious for being "NT Hostile", so who knows...

I read today that somewhere someone with EA Sports said that no games
earlier than the 2002 series would be made to work properly with XP.

I've unistalled it now because it doesn't give me split axis in F12001
anyway, but if you say that's an EA issue then I will reinstall it. But yes,
I think the software version I have is 4.01 and not 4.0. Will check when I
reinstall it.
